Feelings, shmeelings..

Hi guys,

Just a quick blog again.. About how annoying it is to feel like you don't mean shit to someone. That's right, not even shit... When you try your hardest for someone and they just don't see it or don't care enough to bother those are the things that can hurt the most whether it's about friendship, romance, or even family.

Some people are so occupied with themselves that they just don't see the point in giving to others. Why, if you have everything, should you share this with others? Why, if you would know everything, would you want to share your knowledge with someone else? Why, if you're happy, should you try and make other people just as happy as you because well, I don't know, you CARE, for them? This might all sound like so much rubbish which it just as well might be, (Just another blablablog), but what if..

You would be the person that's waiting for a miracle to happen because frankly, your self-esteem is so low that you can't even look yourself in the mirror? That only even the sight of yourself can actually make you nauseous?
And then when you go outside, and people just don't care, they just walk by you like you're a fucking public bench or something you can just walk by or sit on.. Okay, weird example, but you know what I mean..

I feel like this sometimes. And others do too.. It's not like I'm being like '' Oh, I'm so sad look at me, I'm so emo..'' I actually am very outgoing and extrovert. And I have quite a lot of friends, but at some point you can't take anymore and you just break.. Always being there for people, always trying to reach out, or help, but never getting anything in return can really break you.

Here are some nice quotes I found, that I like to read to feel a little better. Some might not be very realistic, but still.. :)

Starting with one particular switch I would like to be able to use from time to time.. wouldn't that be something...

Might have thought about this better before posting this blog, buuuut I don't really care :P

That's it for now,
If you're still interested in my blog after reading this,
Wow.. look at you! thanks! lol

Bye

Still alive, I promise.

Hi!

It's been a while again, and I'm not going to write a big blog this time either. It's not actually really even a blog.. Just some blab.

Thinking about some things I might write about, but at the moment I'm incredibly busy with studying and making homework like the rest of you students ;)

Hoping to pass the first module of this school year. Doesn't feel like I will, but we gotta stay positive, right?!

Next blog will pop-up soon. I think.. Maybe..

To new beginnings!

Hello there!

Here's sort of another 'blablablog' about my first week at my new school named Stenden University in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands :)

I just finished my study start week at this new study I'm going to do which is called 'International Tourism Management'.. This was a week full of obviously meeting new people, we barbequed twice, had a day of survival activities, went on a sort of 'city tour', had pub crawls (AWESOME), and we had to make a presentation about a country (my group chose Ireland).

It was kinda weird because practically the entire time we were walking through the city of Leeuwarden (For the people who don't know it, you should google it.. It's a really nice place) I felt like a tourist.. and even though I'm Dutch, I've only visited Leeuwarden maybe 5 times, because I'd be meeting a friend of mine who lives there, or just to go shopping..

In my class are 7 Dutchies, 3 Germans, a girl from Austria, and a girl from Bulgaria. As you can see it's really mixed up, which I love.. I'm okay at German, but this way I can learn to improve my German so much more. But, all our classes will be in English as well, which I really like :)

All in all, I had a really nice week, and tomorrow the fun begins with the 1st day of school!
I wish everyone who's starting a new education, or simply students who are starting their school again tomorrow in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or whatever year you're in, good luck! :D

To end with the title of this blog..

To new beginnings! *Cheers*

The World's Strangest Hotels

Hi!

Since I'm starting my new study 'International Tourism Management' in a few weeks,
and simply because it was great fun trying to find all these hotels, here's a list of some of the world's weirdest/strangest looking hotels, which are very unique and very creatively built!

The Icehotel, located in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden:
How cool does this entrance look by night?! And the view on the northern lights, beautiful..

Art Suite: A dimensional journey. Artists: David Luxembourg & Jens Dyvik. Photo by Leif Milling.

The hotel, including the chairs and beds, is constructed from snow and ice blocks. The structure remains below freezing, around -5°C.
A night at this hotel would cost you about 400 (!) euros a night, including breakfast.

Dog Bark Park Inn, located in Idaho, USA:

A beagle-themed B&B that sleeps up to four guests at a time. Guests enter the body of the giant dog through a balcony. The dog's head houses a loft bedroom and an alcove within the muzzle, with a toilet disguised as a fire hydrant.
The larger beagle, named 'Sweet Willy', is 30 feet tall (9m), 34 feet long (10m), and 14 feet(4m) wide. It's made of wood (the owners are chain-saw artists) and painted stucco, with flaps of carpeting for the ears.
To stay in this unique B&B, costs are $98 a night, including breakfast.

Tianzi Hotel, located in China:

Built in 2000, this 10-story building depicts Fu, Lu and Shou - Chinese gods- symbolizing good fortune, prosperity and logevity.
The Tianzi Hotel is the largest Image hotel in the world. Shou, on the left, is holding a peach that contains a suite. Enter the hotel through his right foot.

It's not that different on the inside from any other hotel (except for the pandas..), but the way it's been built, and the look of the hotel, with those 3 men and the fact that he's symbolically holding a hotelsuite in his hand is very cool in my opinion!

Karostas Cietums, located in Liepaja, Latvia:

It's a former military prison built in 1905, Karostas housed revolutionaires, enemies of the people from Stalin's time, and more recently, the KGB.
"A good hotel has got to be safe, clean, and have good staff," Bush once said. Karostas breaks that fundamental rule of hospitality, inviting its guests to "live the part of a prisoner on a dismal night"—by sleeping on grungy prison bunks, eating prison food and taking abuse from prison guards.

Very freaky.

Hotel de Vrouwe van Stavoren, Netherlands

The De Vrouwe has remodeled wine caskets into four two-person rooms with standard amenities and an attached bathroom and sitting room.
The 14,500-liter wooden caskets still smell like the Beaujolais wine they once stored. The rooms are small but airtight and strong.

Blablablog

Hi!

Again, it has been a while since I wrote a 'meaningful' blog.. If I ever had in the first place.. Kinda felt like writing a 'blablablog', which, is for you, to read, when you're bored.. So, not a meaningful blog this is either.. Tag along if you don't feel like reading!

This time I'd like to dedicate it to the spare time in between schools during summer (for the students among us).  Some of us (including me) are lucky enough to have a 'summer job' to sort of pass the time. For as long as I can remember I've been on a summer holiday for at least a week. Like last year, I went to the lovely Greek island Kos, with 3 friends.

It feels kinda weird to not go, you sort of need that feeling of leaving for a while, like packing, and getting on/in the plane/bus/car/bike/whatever, and going somewhere even if it's just a little way from home. It's sort of like you need it somehow, which is obviously true because you need a little relaxation every now and then.

And I work at a tourist information center/auto assist center (VVV/ANWB for the Dutchies) so you get even more jealous when you wish people a nice holiday, and when they wish it back to you you're just like 'Oh.. No holiday for me this year' *sadface*.
 Enough with the whining :)

But luckily during the summer there's enough party's and festivals to go to when you don't know what to do, or when you don't have a holiday planned.

Hopefully I'll be going back to London in Oktober for a few days with a good friend of mine! So that's sort of a 'holiday' to look forward to :) I've really missed London..

Anyways,

I hope you all enjoy your summer holiday !:)
